Huck Nets (UK) Limited acquires Edwards Nets
Bridport net manufacturer, Huck Nets (UK) Ltd has, with effect from December 1 2015, acquired Bridport based Edward Sports Product Ltd from Broxap Ltd of Staffordshire. This acquisition makes Huck Nets (UK) the largest net manufacturer in the UK.
Edwards has been manufacturing nets in Bridport since 1884. They specialise in manufacturing net products for sport and have a worldwide reputation for their tennis nets which they have been supplying to Wimbledon for over 100 years! They also manufacture and supply fruit cages, netting and garden products through the trade name Williams James and Co.
During the forthcoming month, the manufacturing and office operation of Edwards, and their 20 employees, will be moving to Huck’s purpose built HQ and production plant at Gore Cross Business Park, Bridport. They will continue to trade as Edward Sports Products within the Huck Group still manufacturing and offering their comprehensive range of netting solutions which will now be complemented by Huck’s unique knotless netting range where appropriate.
Said Chairman, Richard Connolly:
“I am very excited to have Edwards Sports as part of the Huck Group. Not only does the acquisition support our growth plans by strengthening the net offerings that we can provide to the UK market but also brings together the skills and expertise of two Bridport based companies which is good for everyone that we employee, the industry in the town, as well as our customers.”
